Skip Hire in Stafford, Stone, Eccleshall and Market Drayton: What to Know

From the county town to the Shropshire border

South and west of Stoke, our lorries cover everything from terraced streets in Stafford to farms around Eccleshall and Market Drayton. The jobs vary a lot, and so do the permit rules once you cross into Shropshire.

Where we deliver

Town jobs and country jobs

In the towns, most jobs are kitchen and bathroom refits, garden tidy-ups and house clearances. A 3 yard or 4 yard skip covers most of these, and an 8 yard builders skip suits bigger renovations.

Out in the countryside around Eccleshall, Baldwin’s Gate and Market Drayton, we see more barn, outbuilding and yard clear-outs. For those, a 16 yard skip or one of our roll-on roll-off skips can save several trips. If access is down a farm track, tell us when you book so the driver can plan the drop.

Permits: Staffordshire vs Shropshire

You only need a permit if the skip is going on the road. The rules depend on which council looks after your road:

  • Stafford, Stone, Eccleshall and Baldwin’s Gate are in Staffordshire, so you need a Staffordshire County Council permit with five working days’ notice.
  • Market Drayton is in Shropshire. A Shropshire Council permit needs ten working days’ notice, so book further ahead if your skip is going on the road.

Either way, choose ‘On the Road’ when you book and we’ll apply for the permit for you.
