The DP Group has taken a significant step in its sustainability journey with the installation of a second Doyle Machinery supplied Arjes mobile shredder at its Stoke-on-Trent facility. Managing Director Tom Exley officially unveiled the new machine this week, noting that the pair of shredders now processes up to 36 tonnes of material every hour.

Doubling Capacity, Raising Ambitions

With two Arjes units working side by side, the site’s throughput has doubled. Each shredder can handle 18 tonnes per hour, allowing the DP Group to sort and break down mixed waste far more efficiently than before. This investment forms a key part of the company’s strategy to recycle 95 per cent of all material processed on site.

“Adding this second shredder not only increases our capacity but also sharpens our competitive edge in sustainable waste management,” commented Tom Exley. “Our goal remains clear: divert as much waste as possible from landfill.”

A Focus on Recovery and Reuse

The upgraded plant delivers more than just speed. By finely shredding wood, plastics and other recoverable materials, the DP Group can channel a greater volume back into recycling streams—supporting local markets for secondary materials and reducing environmental impact.

The facility’s enhanced screening and separation systems work in tandem with the shredders, ensuring that metals, glass and inert materials are efficiently captured for onward processing.
